Ben and Grace. A Couples Session in East Austin and the Seaholm District.

Ben and Grace’s session ran across two of our favorite stretches of the city, East Austin and the Seaholm District, and the frame we picked to represent it breaks the usual rules on purpose. We climbed a level up, shot straight down through the slats of a metal railing, and asked the two of them to find the lens. They did, grinning like they had just been caught doing something.

Angles like this are why we shoot couples sessions in the city rather than in a field. Austin hands you framing devices on every block: railings, stairwells, louvers, reflections. A session becomes a scavenger hunt for them, and the couple gets photographs that could not have been made anywhere else, of anyone else.
